After all these years, we still “live 10 months for 2”!

At Camp Specialists, we are real parents, experienced camp advisors, former camp directors, and lifelong camp enthusiasts who truly live and breathe camp.

As campers, we talked about “living 10 months for 2,” counting down all year to our time at camp, and we still have that same passion for summer fun.

Our specialists travel to sleepaway camps across the country, meeting with directors, exploring programs, and reviewing every detail — taking the guesswork out of it for parents like you! We’re passionate about finding the perfect fit for every child and creating a summer they’ll never forget.

Arlene Streisand

Chief Executive Officer

Arlene founded Camp Specialists in 1992 after realizing that busy parents needed help from a trusted guide as they sorted through hundreds of overnight camp options.

With a background in education and social services, she is a natural connector of people with a knack for guiding a family toward the right camp for their child.

An experienced camp mom who now has two granddaughters in camp, Arlene is personally invested in making sure each of her families finds the best summer camp, teen tour, or educational experience for their child.

Stacy Fleischman

Chief Operating Officer

Stacy is a lifelong camper who returned to her childhood sleepaway camp as a counselor and group head while attending Indiana University and earning her Masters in Education from New York University.

After a few years of teaching, she realized her true passion was “living 10 for 2,” and she returned first to day camp, then to overnight camp, becoming Assistant Director at a brother-sister camp in Pennsylvania — and as the mom of two daughters who attend overnight camp, she’s been through all the first-time camp mom jitters, too!

Since joining Camp Specialists in 2014, she has loved having the opportunity to wear all her different hats as she works closely with families to find the ideal summer camp experience for their children.

If you ask Stacy, she’ll tell you she’s lucky to have the best job in the world!

Stacy Blicht

Chief Administrative Officer

Stacy is a graduate of the University of Michigan who spent many years in the retail sector before pivoting to early childhood education.

She joined Camp Specialists in 2007, first as an Independent Camp Specialist, then as Office Manager, and today she works alongside Arlene and Stacy to help run the company.

Stacy grew up going to sleepaway camp, worked as a counselor for many years, and is still close with her childhood bunkmates. She’s also an experienced camp mom. Stacy loves that her job lets her continue to live in the camp world and experience it all over again each summer through the eyes of the campers and parents she works with!
